Law enforcement plan is "going in right direction" -- Al-Maliki (with photo) BAGHDAD, April 21 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri Al-Maliki, during a meeting with visiting Australian Minister of Defence Brendan Nelson here on Saturday, called for boosting economic, commercial and construction cooperation between his country and Australia.
Al-Maliki, speaking during the meeting with the Australian official, stressed on the importance to quell terrorism around the world.
Iraqi people and leaders are standing shoulder to shoulder with the world countries to fight terrorism especially in Anbar, Diyala and Baghdad, he said. The prime minister added that the law enforcement plan "is going in the right direction and the Iraqi people are working hard to handle their country's issues," allduing to the plan, enforced around two months ago in the Iraqi capital.
Nelson voiced his country's desire to support the Iraqi people and the Government of the National Unity, pointing out that the solidarity between the citizens and their leaders is the only way to reconstruct Iraq. (end) mhg.sab KUNA 211557 Apr 07NNNN
