Ammar Al-Hakim escapes assassination in southern Baghdad BAGHDAD, April 20 (KUNA) -- Ammar Al-Hakim, head of the Secretary General of Islamic Propagation Organization in Iraq, escaped an assassination attempt Friday in southern Baghdad.
A security source told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) Hakim's convoy was attacked by unknown militants in Lutfiya district on the Baghdad-Najaf Road, wounding six of his bodyguards.
It is yet unknown if Hakim was wounded in the attack.
Hakim is the son of President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Revolution in Iraq Abdulaziz Al-Hakim. (end) mhg.ema KUNA 201215 Apr 07NNNN
