200 people killed, wounded in fiery blast in Kirkuk
IRBIL, April 2 (KUNA) -- The strong explosion that rocked the northern
Iraqi city of Kirkuk on Monday killed and wounded some 200 people, police said
in an updated report.
Police told KUNA that the death toll, in a new count, reached 13, in
addition to 187 wounded, including a large number of students.
The explosion occurred earlier due to a blast of a booby-trapped vehicle
close to a school for girls in the district of Rahimawa in Kirkuk. It
inflicted extensive damage in nearby buildings and set scores of cars afire.
