GAZA, Dec 23 (KUNA) -- The export of agricultural products from Gaza Strip
to Europe will be resumed next week, said Israel Radio on Thursday,
The Israeli security and political affairs cabinet agreed to allow the
resumption of export three and a half years after Israel banned the export of
products from the strip, it added.
The first shipment to Europe will consist of 15 tons of vegetables, it said.
It will be transferred through Karam Abu Salem border crossing between
Israel and South Gaza on Sunday, it pointed out.
The European Commission announced Wednesday signing a draft agreement with
the Palestinian Authority to import agricultural products and fish from Gaza
and the West Bank without the need for paying custom fees.
Israel allowed last November the export of strawberries and flowers from
Gaza. (end)
