ALGIERS, Aug 29 (KUNA) -- Temperature soared to 47 degrees over the past
two days and authorities reported four deaths related to the heat-wave.
The meteorological center said on Sunday the temperature reached 48 degress
in western and central regions of Algeria.
Temperature in southern desert reached as high as 51 degrees.
Civili defense reported hundreds of cases of sun stroke and suffocation,
noting that most cases were among citizens aged between 65 and 86. (end)
