DAMASCUS, Nov 1 (KUNA) -- Syrian Deir Al-Zour province reported on Sunday
its first fatality case due to the Swine flu virus known as the A(H1N1).
The Director of Al-Assad Hospital, Mahmoud Al-Sayyah told Syria News
website that a female, 38 years old, was receiving treatment in Damascus from
a severe muscle disease, but upon her return to the province she was diagnosed
with the Swine flu virus.
The fatality case is the first reported by the province officially.
Last July, Syria reported its first case of the swine flu virus when a an
Australian woman of a Syrian origin arrived in the country. (end)
