American forces kill 10 Qaeda insurgents in Iraq

BAGHDAD, Nov 26 (KUNA) -- American troops have killed 10 members of Al-Qaeda organization in a military operation north of the Iraqi capital, the American Army said in a statement released on Monday.
In a separate operation, the troops detained eight insurgents, including ranking activists, near Sameraa in the governorate of Salah-Eddine.
The operation that involved gunship helicopters targeted a notorious fugitive and ex-inmate, who had been involved in arms smuggling. Caches of arms were found and confiscated during the operation.
