GAZA, Sept 16 (KUNA) -- Israeli forces executed an incursion early Sunday
into northern Rafah and invaded Al-Amour area amid heavy fire.
Eyewitnesses said Israeli tanks and vehicles entered through Sofa Crossing
supported by airplanes, while an Israeli helicopter launched a missile at
Moath bin Jabal Mosque in Al-Amour, injuring one person and causing great
damage to the mosque itself.
Israeli bulldozers are destroying Palestinian farmland near the wall
separating Israeli settlements from the area, they added, saying that special
Israeli units broke into a number of Palestinian homes and arrested several
people.
The incursion coincided with firing missiles at Yasser Arafat International
Airport in southern Rafah, they said.
Meanwhile, Hamas's military wing, Al-Qassam Brigades, said in a press
release on Sunday that it destroyed a big Israeli bulldozer with explosives
near Rafah crossing. (end)
