GAZA, July 31 (KUNA) -- A Palestinian Hamas leader has vowed to bring
Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad and his cabinet members to trial for
"breaking Palestinian law".
Mahmoud al-Zahar, the foreign minister of the dismissed Hamas government,
made the vow at a news conference held here Tuesday afternoon.
He dismissed Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' call for sending matters
in Gaza back to the situation before Hamas' takeover of Gaza in mid-June,
stigmatizing Palestinian security agencies as "corrupt".
"The wheel of time will not roll back," he promised. "The time of
corruption, which was practiced by security agencies in the Gaza Strip at the
expense of the Palestinian people and their funds, will not move back at all."
He unveiled that he had documents showing the involvement of several
Palestinian leaders and bodies, chiefly the Palestinian Preventive Security
Apparatus, in fraud and bribery cases.
He accused Palestinian security agencies of denying Hamas and Islamic Jihad
activists access to governmental posts due to their political leanings and
orientations.
He claimed that Abbas himself was involved in the Israeli siege imposed on
Gaza, and the closure of the Rafah crossing. (end)
