KUWAIT, Nov 28 (KUNA) -- 1903 -- Lord Kurzon, British King's Deputy and Ruler of India, in Kuwait for two-day visit, stresses strength of relations with Kuwait under Sheikh Mubarak Al-Sabah's rule.
1915 -- Sheikh Mubarak Al-Sabah, the seventh ruler of Kuwait who is also known as Mubarak Al-Kabeer, passes away at the age of 73 after ruling the country for 19 years.
1962 -- Students protest during a visit by Algerian activist Jamilah Bu Heirad. Two policemen and two students are injured.
1964 -- Kuwait opens embassy in Italy and consulate in Milan.
1973 -- Livestock Transport and Trading Company is set up at capital of KD eight million.
1976 -- Amiri decree is issued on establishment of Kuwaiti Tires Company at capital of KD eight million.
1976 -- Draft Law issued on establishment of the Fund for Future Generations with 10 percent of the state's revenue to be deposited in the fund as of the fiscal year 1976/1977. The sums are to be invested by the Finance Ministry. Also, 50 percent of the state's reserves are to be deposited into fund accounts immediately as the law comes into effect.
1990 -- UN Security Council issues resolution 677 condemning Iraq's attempts to change Kuwait's demographic makeup and demands the UN Secretary General put all concerned Kuwaiti records in safekeeping to make sure no Iraqis are planted as legal residents once the state is liberated.
1995 -- The Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issues decree 281/95 concerning theatre troupes putting them under the care of the National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letters and the authority of the Minister of Information.
2005 -- Kuwait hosts the 36th meeting of the Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI), established in 1967 and based in Tunisia.
2005 -- Kuwait hosts the 13th Union of Arab Chemists meetings and becomes the first Gulf state to act as host since union establishment 30 years ago. (end) gta
