KUWAIT, Feb 27 (KUNA) -- 1925 -- The first transport company was launched. Hamed Rajab Al-Naqeeb launched the company transporting passengers from and to the southern Iraqi city of Basra.
1955 -- The social affairs department endorsed its first budget, estimated at four million rupees.
1962 -- The international convention on preventing seas' pollution was observed by Kuwait.
1982 -- Kuwait opened an embassy in South Korea.
1991 -- Kuwait Flag was hoisted at the flag square after liberation of the country. A group of Kuwaiti soldiers hoisted the national flag and sang the national anthem on the occasion. (end) rk
