KUWAIT, Nov 23 (KUNA) -- 1916 -- A conference, called for by the British Governor-General of Basra Percy Cox, was held at Al-Seif Palace to drum up Arab support for Britain. The gathering yielded no positive results.
1960 -- Gulf Bank was established with a capital of 23 million rupees.
1970 -- Kuwait established diplomatic ties with Sri Lanka.
1992 -- The 106th and final mark was placed on the land borders between Iraq and Kuwait.
1994 -- Kuwait hosted the first Al-Qurain Cultural Festival organized by the National Council for Culture, Arts, and Literature in cooperation with the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Science (KFAS).
2004 -- Kuwait Sports Club won the seventh Mohammed Abdulmohsen Al-Kharafi football tournament after beating Qadisiya Sports Club.
2004 -- A contract was signed for the plan of the new campus of Kuwait University.
2004 -- Kuwait hosted the first Gulf meeting of charity organizations and societies.
2005 -- The Amir, Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, issued a decree establishing Kuwait Technological College, granting diplomas in business administration and information technology systems.
2005 -- The Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issued a decree licensing the establishment of the American University of the Middle East.
