1982 -- Kuwait Center for Fighting Cancer launched its activities.
1999 -- The State of Kuwait won a gold medal at the Arab Radio Drama Production Festival held in Tunis.
2000 -- The State of Kuwait and Iran signed a memo of understanding over security issues which included combating drugs, border infiltration and cooperation with the Interpol.
2001 -- The first elections for students of the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training took place.
2002 -- The State of Kuwait and Iran signed a memo of understanding to enhance military cooperation. It was inked during a visit by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, to Tehran.
2003 -- Energy Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah inaugurated Kuwait's Jaber Marine Reserve.
2005 -- HSBC bank opened a branch in Kuwait and became the first foreign bank to offer comprehensive services in the Arabian Gulf country.
2005 -- The (Late) Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issued a decree to form the national anti-narcotics committee.
2013 -- Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) signed a KD 30 million (USD 102 million) loan agreement with Egypt to fund a railway project. (end) rk
