Yemeni, world bank officials meet in Sanaa

KUN0103 4 GEN 0157 KUWAIT /KUNA-FHA6 ECO-YEMEN-WORLD BANK Yemeni, world bank officials meet in Sanaa SANAA, Nov 20 (KUNA) -- Officials from the Yemeni government and the World Bank (WB) held talks here Sunday on WB's strategy to help Yemen, and economic reforms by the Sanaa government. Deputy Prime minister and Minister of planning and international cooperation ahmad Sofan told reporters after the meeting that Yemen was keen on cooperating with the WB to increase the bank's assistance to Sanaa. Sofan said Yemen was in a good economic condition, citing growth at 8-10 percent. He underlined need of organizing efforts between the WB and Yemen to establish a true partnership and increase benefits from the investment provided by the bank. The WB regional director said the world bank was extending financial and technical assistance to Yemen.
