Kuwait top leadership advises direct listening to complaints -- official

KUWAIT, Jan 22 (KUNA) -- Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs Dr. Nora Al-Mashaan said on Monday that there there are directions by the supreme leadership to inspect conditions in the field and directly listen to citizens' complaints.
The minister, speaking in a press release after a meeting with the chairperson and members of the Municipal Councill, said she and her colleagues looked into a host of issues, set priorities and addressed obstacles facing speedy solutions to the problems in the sector.
She expresed hope that aspired rules and laws be drafted for sake of further progress at the national level, affirming keenness on upgrading personnel's performance and doing everything possible to attain Kuwait Vision 2035 for further development in utilities and other public services.
Meanwhile, Abdullah Al-Mehri, the chairperson of the council, said that the meeting addressed the enacted rules and those under consideration, namely the construction regulations.
Others topics on the table were cleaning contracts, in addition to other unresolved issues, he said.
Munira Al-Amir, the council member, said the council officials would spare no effort for attaining the development goals. Her peer, Alia Al-Farsi, said the minister expressed readiness to enhance cooperation with the council, noting that the discussed topics included matters related to public cleaning, waste management, recycling and the society's role in executing the public tasks.
