Russia, France, Germany discuss UNSC Syria resolution

MOSCOW, Feb 25 (KUNA) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin, and French and German counterparts, Emmanuel Macron and Angela Merkel have welcomed the UNSC month-long ceasefire across Syria, submitted by Kuwait and Sweden.
The leaders discussed by phone the latest developments in Syria's Eastern Ghouta, and guarantees to allow for humanitarian deliveries and medical evacuation, Kremlin said in a statement Sunday.
They also highlighted the importance of common efforts to implement ceasefire.
Putin noted that the truce does not apply to the "terrorist" groups in Syria.
The UNSC adopted unanimously on Saturday a resolution demanding parties to Syria's conflict to cease hostilities without delay for at least 30 consecutive days, ensuring a "durable humanitarian pause" to enable weekly humanitarian aid deliveries and medical evacuations of the critically sick and wounded.
