PKK attack kills Turkish soldier in SE Turkey

ANKARA, Feb 9 (KUNA) -- A Turkish soldier was killed in a rocket attack by the Kurdistan Workers' Party in Hakkari province, southeastern Turkey, Turkish General Staff announced Friday.
The PKK gunmen targeted the Zer Tepe military base in the Cukurca district, killing one soldier as a result of their attack, the general staff said in a statement.
The PKK resumed its attacks against Turkish forces in July 2015 after a three-year and half pause, killing over 1,450 Turkish soldiers, security men, and civilians since then. (end) rs.ma
