RABAT, Jan 26 (KUNA) -- Moroccan Minister of Culture and Communication Mohammad Laaraj received Abdulaziz Al-Babtain, Chairman of Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain Cultural Foundation, on Friday.
Al-Babtain, a celebrated Kuwaiti poet now on a visit to Morocco, is to attend a ceremony in the northern city of Fes to honor him in recognition of his support to the cultural movement in Morocco and the Arab world.
In a statement to KUNA following the meeting, he expressed joy for visiting the Kingdom of Morocco which has exemplary relations with the State of Kuwait in various fields, notably the cultural one.
The bilateral relations kept growing under the leadership of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and King of Morocco Mohammad VI, he said.
Al-Babtain highlighted the role of culture in bringing the Arab peoples closer to each other, noting the contributions of his foundation in this regard and in supporting the cultural movement in the region.
On his part, the Moroccan minister said lauded, in a statement to KUNA, the historical deep-rooted relations with Kuwait and the growing cooperation in the cultural, political and economic areas.
Regarding the role of Al-Babtain Foundation, Laaraj said it organized, and offered essential support to, a range of cultural activities in Morocco and other parts of the Arab world.
He commended Al-Babtain as a good example of an Arab intellectual and a dedicated defender of the Arab and Muslim identity.
The Kuwaiti poet plays an important role in promoting the values of peace, tolerance and coexistence that constitute the main features of the Arab Muslim civilization, the minister added. (end) mry.gb
