VIENNA, Jan 26 (KUNA) -- The Syrian regime and opposition concluded a round of negotiations in Vienna Friday without achieving any breakthrough ahead of the national dialogue conference, due in Russia next week.
Bashar Jaafari, head of the Syrian regime's delegation to the talks, lashed out at the US and four other countries, which he did not name, because they submitted a plan of action to the UN envoy Staffan de Mistura which undermined Syrian president's authorities, call for new constitution and holding UN-monitored elections.
The US and its allies are responsible for bloodshed in Syria "and they have no right to determine the future of the situation in Syria," he said.
The opposition also critizied the regime for failing to respect outcome of Geneva I communique and relevant UN resolution.
The opposition is deliberating whether to participate in the national dialogue conference in Sochi, Russia.
De Mistura said he talked with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to discuss preparations for the talks in Sochi.
Lavrov said the Sochi conference could push foward the political settlement in Syria. (end) amg.bs
