Kuwaiti society sends 2 aid caravans to Syrian refugees in Turkey

ANKARA, Jan 14 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Rahma International charity, an affiliate of the Social Reform Association (Eslah), on Sunday offered two relief caravans to Syrian refugees in Turkey's southern provinces of Gaziantep and Hatay.
Head of the Syria office at Rahma Walid Al-Swuilem said up to 640 refugee families in Gaziantep benefited from a caravan. The second was meant to offer psychological support to the Syrian refugees in Hatay.
The aid included cash payments, a party for 11 orphans and training 111 people to provide psychological backing to 130 children, Al-Swuilem added.
He noted that Rahma is keen on diversity in its aid programs, covering education, health, development and psychology.
This is part of the society's educational and psychological efforts to alleviate the suffering of the refugees who have experienced horrible fighting and violence at home, he said.
These efforts further reflect Kuwait's humanitarian role in support of the Syrian people since the eruption of their crisis in 2011, Al-Swuilem said, urging Kuwaitis to carry on with their assistance.
Rahma's aid to refugees hit USD 77 milllion over the past seven years. (end) rs.msa
