Trump to hold talks with N. Korea at "appropriate time"

WASHINGTON, Jan 10 (KUNA) -- US President Donald Trump on Wednesday said he was open to talks with North Korea "at the appropriate time, under the right circumstances." This came during a call conducted between Trump and South Korean President Moon Jae-in on the outcome of discussions with North Korea, the White House announced.
During the call, Moon briefed Trump on recent talks between North and South Korea officials, thanking him for his role in making the talks possible, according to the White House.
The Trump administration has urged regional partners to continue pressure on North Korea to give up its nuclear program, which it shows no sign of doing despite facing mounting international sanctions.
Trump and Moon 'underscored the importance of continuing the maximum pressure campaign against Pyongyang', added the White House.
