Kuwait eager to keep historic landmarks intact, says minister

KUWAIT, Jan 10 (KUNA) -- It is imperative to protect the abundance of heritage sites in Kuwait, the country's Information Minister Mohammad Al-Jabri said on Wednesday.
Al-Jabri, who doubles as the President of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, told KUNA that heritage protection is a perennial concern for the government, which has introduced laws germane to this issue.
He pointed out that preserving Kuwait's heritage is a social obligation that requires collective effort to protect the very essence of the country. (end) amn.nam
