KUWAIT, Jan 5 (KUNA) -- His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Friday received a message from His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah expressing congratulations on success of the 23rd Arabian Gulf Cup tournament.
His Highness the Crown Prince expressed deep satisfaction at "this honorable accomplishment that delighted the people and athletes thus manifesting the civil image of Kuwait."
Sheikh Nawaf expressed gratitude to His Highness the Amir for his diligent efforts that proved crucial for ensuring success of the championship. He also lauded the good performance and spirit expressed by the teams players, thus depicting the GCC unity.
His Highness the Amir sent a message in reply to the Crown Prince, showing identical sentiments and thanking the departments that contributed to organizing this significant sports event.
The championship ended tonight with Oman beating the UAE in final penalty kicks following a goalless match. (end)
