Missiles target Russian base in Syria - monitor

AMMAN, Dec 27 (KUNA) -- At least two missiles have targeted a Russian base at Hmaimeem military base in northern Syria, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on Wednesday.
The Syrian opposition-run monitor, citing "reliable sources," said two missiles exploded on impact at the air facility, located west of Jebla town in Latakia's countryside.
The observatory added that it has received no information about losses.
The attack coincided with an intensive rocket assault by opposition factions on strongholds of the Syrian regime in mountains north of Latakia, a key port city. (end) tk.rk
