Kuwait plays strong role in regional development - Iraq VP

BAGHDAD, Dec 21 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's intention to hold a conference for the reconstruction of Iraqi areas affected by the so-called Islamic State (IS) destruction is a great indication of its regional role in reintegration and development, said Iraqi Vice President Osama Al-Najafi Thursday.
This statement came during Al-Najafi's reception of Kuwaiti Ambassador to Iraq Salem Al-Zamanan.
Al-Najafi stressed that it was important to continue efforts to make the event, to be held early in 2018, a success. He thanked Kuwait for taking this initiative which will hopefully lead to stability and security in his country.
Al-Najafi and Al-Zamanan discussed during their meeting issues of mutual interest and ways to further bolster relations. (end) ahh.gta
