KUWAIT, Dec 3 (KUNA) -- The Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) is interested in cooperation with World Bank (WB), especially in natural gas and Arab common market for electricity, the OAPEC's secretary-general said on Sunday.
A WB delegation visited the OAPEC headquarters last week, where several issues, mainly natural gas trade in the region and the Arab common market for electricity, were discussed, Abbas Naqi said to KUNA.
He quoted the delegation as stressing the OAPEC's role in the provision of a dialogue platform for all stakeholders in its capacity as a regional and international economic organization.
He added that they had also addressed the role of the WB and Arab League in the Arab common market for electricity.
More joint meetings are to be held in the future with a view to turning relevant visions and ideas into tangible steps, the OAPEC chief pointed out. (end) asj.mt
