Four ministers put candidacy to become next Eurogroup president

BRUSSELS, Nov 30 (KUNA) -- Mario Centeno, minister of finance of Portugal, Pierre Gramegna, minister of finance of Luxembourg, Peter Kazimir, minister of finance of Slovakia and Dana Reizniece-Ozola, minister of finance of Latvia have put their candidacy for the post of the next President of the Eurgroup.
An EU statement Thursday noted the election of the new Eurogroup president will take place on 4 December, by means of a simple majority vote.
The new president will succeed Jeroen Dijsselbloem, the current Dutch finance minister, upon the expiry of his mandate on January 13, 2018, for a period of two and a half years.
The 19-member Eurogroup is an informal body where ministers of the euro area member states discuss matters of common concern shared in relation to sharing the euro as the single currency. (end) nk.sd
