KUWAIT, Nov 29 (KUNA) -- The Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA) presented on Wednesday "Al Rowad" award to Saudi Arabian, Bahraini and Kuwait pioneers.
During the 12th annual GPCA forum, the three pioneer, Saudi Dr. Ghazi Al-Gosaibi, Bahraini Yousif Al-Shirawi and Kuwaiti Abdulbaqi Al-Nouri has been bestowed with the GPCA Legacy Award "Al Rowad".
Abdulwahab Al-Sadoun, GPCA Secretary General said "these prominent individuals were the first to realize and explore the potential of setting up a chemical industry in the region by challenging the status quo, by overcoming any obstacle on the way and illuminating the road for the next generations to come." The Kuwaiti Abdulbaqi Al-Nouri, former chairman and managing director of Petrochemical Industries Company (PIC), for his role in establishing Kuwait Chemical Fertilizer Company (KCFC), the first chemical operation in the Arabian Gulf region, as well as for establishing a flourishing petrochemical industry in Kuwait.
