French pres. reiterates commitment to Lebanon's stability

BEIRUT, Nov 11 (KUNA) -- French President Emmanuel Macron on Saturday reaffirmed his country's backing to Lebanon's security, stability, unity and independence.
The French leader's vow came in a phone call with Lebanese President Michel Aoun, according to a statement from the Lebanese Presidency's media office.
During the phone conversation, Macron also promised to help Lebanon in maintaining its security and political stability, the statement said.
Both leaders addressed the latest political developments in Lebanon in the wake of Prime Minister Saad Al-Hariri's recent resignation, it added.
They also agreed to communicate regularly to assess this Arab country's political crisis, the statement indicated. (end) ayb.mt
