BRUSSELS, Nov 8 (KUNA) -- The European Union's top diplomat voiced concern Wednesday over Iran's ballistic missile programme and its regional policies, but stressed that these issues should be tackled separately from the nuclear deal.
"We have in the EU strong concerns both about the ballistic missile programmes and some of the policies in the region (of Iran) linked to the conflict in Syria or Yemen," EU High Representative Federica Mogherini told reporters as she arrived for a meeting with NATO defence ministers at NATO headquarters tonight.
She noted that during her talks with American officials during her visit to Washington on Tuesday "we made very clear that these issues have to be tackled outside the nuclear agreement.
"For us it is very important to keep the nuclear issue as it is, renegotiation is not possible and you do not change an agreement that is delivering," she said.
"Outside the agreement in the proper foreign formats we are already addressing some of the issues of concern. The EU has kept some of the non-nuclear related sanctions in place in particular on terrorist activities or human right," she added. (end) nk.hb
