ABU DHABI, Nov 6 (KUNA) -- The United Arab Emirates (UAE) women team won the gold and silver of the Practical Shooting individual and team competitions of the 2nd International Police Sports Union's (USIP) World Police Games Abu Dhabi 2017.
USIP President Lt. Gen. Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Sabah commended the UAE women team and their victories against elite shooters.
The Practical Shooting competition was held for the first time this year, aimed at improving shooting skills of police forces.
Sheikh Ahmad, in a statement to KUNA, wished athletes luck in competitions of swimming, judo and Jiu Jitsu.
Colonel Waleed Al-Shahab, board member of Kuwait Police Sports Union, said the Kuwaiti team -- three men and three women -- benefited from the practical shooting competition, which included mobile objects and hurdles.
The competition, he told KUNA, depended on speed, fitness and accuracy. (end) bsu.bs
