SHARM EL-SHEIKH, Egypt, Nov 5 (KUNA) -- Egyptian President Abdelfatah Al-Sisi lamented on Sunday terrorists' violation against humanity and called for considering the fight against terror as a human right.
In his inaugural speech at the World Youth Forum in Sharm El-Sheikh, President Al-Sisi urged youth to cling to peaceful coexistence and dialogue based on objectivity and human values.
Egypt would employ all its capabilities to carry out its historical role in reshaping the ideas of peace and stability, he vowed.
He stated that he have been dreaming of a world without refugees and displaced people -- who were forced to leave their homes -- or poor people who do not have the basics for a dignified life.
The president said that Egypt's organizing of the international event is "inspired by my sincere belief that dialogue is the only way to overcome challenges." For his part, Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme Achim Steiner, who attended on behalf of the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guiterres, underlined the importance of the forum and the dialogue among world youth.
"We need to talk, we need to collaborate ... I urge you to take the ideas from your society," he said.
Around 3,202 people representing 113 states are participating in the forum, with 52 official international delegations also attending the 46-session forum.
His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah is represented by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Anas Al-Sabah to the forum. Kuwait's official delegation to the event is headed by Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth Affairs Meshal Al-Subaie.
The forum tackles subjects of interest to both national and international youth, including youth global issues, sustainable development, technology and entrepreneurship, civilizations and culture, creating future leaders, and the Model United Nations (MUN).
It is a chance for you to engage with top policymakers, network with promising youth from the region and the world that are determined to create real change in the world. (end) ms.rg.ibi
