Dozens of casualties in suicide bombing NE. Syria

AMMAN, Oct 12 (KUNA) -- Scores of internally displaced persons (IDPs) were killed or injured in a suicide car bombing in Abu-Fas village near Al-Shaddadi city in Al-Hasakah governorate, northeast Syria, on Thursday evening.
The victims include children and women; they were among hundreds of people who fled fighting between the Syrian regular troops and the so-called Islamic State (IS) in Deir-Ezzur governorate, the Syrian state-run SANA reported without giving figures.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) confirmed the report, noting that the attack bore the hallmarks of the IS.
At least 18 IDPs and members of the local Kurdish security forces were killed in the suicide attack, according to SOHR. (end) tk.gb
