AMMAN, Oct 8 (KUNA) -- Representatives from Kuwait participating in the Amman International Book Expo said Sunday they aim to shed more light on Kuwaiti cultural, intellectual and literary talent at the event.
The Kuwaiti exhibit also aims to highlight the country's "pioneering role" on the global scale, the Information Ministry's Foreign Media department chief Mishal Al-Shihry said.
The ministry's section includes publications targetting all members of the society.
It also includes a special corner dedicated to books celebrating the third anniversary of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's selection as humanitarian leader by the United Nations.
For its part, the National Council for Culture, Arts and Literature has more than 420 "carefully selected publications" on display, while Kuwait University is contributing with advanced scientific publications, researches and various studies.
The 10-day book exhibition also witnessed a variety of cultural programs organized by Jordan's Ministry of Culture, the Jordanian Publishers Union and the Amman Municipality.
These include workshops, literary evenings, intellectual lectures, film screenings, intellectual debates and cultural and literary seminars. (end) mjb.nhq
