BRUSSELS, Sept 20 (KUNA) -- Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel has expressed surprise over the "harsh" and "dangerous" language used by the US President Donald Trump during his speech at the UN General Assembly in New York on Tuesday.
Michel told Belgian broadcaster VRT Wednesday that "this is harsh language. I am not certain that this approach is effective and will contribute to world peace."
"I believe that we should move to a de-escalation, because the issue here is a sensitive one," he said, adding "I think that it is better not to play with fire."
During his UN speech, President Trump condemned the regime in North Korea, deeming it "a rotten regime", and threatened "the total destruction" of North Korea.
Michel noted that Belgium is for a different approach and wants to engage in dialogue with Pyongyang. (end)
