KUWAIT, Sept 7 (KUNA) -- The Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain Cultural Foundation said Thursday that promoting a culture of peace around the world is essential for attaining UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Foundation has dedicated its efforts toward promoting intercultural dialogue based on understanding, respect, and peace, Chairman Abdulaziz Al-Babtain said at the International Peace Institute (IPI) in New York.
Such efforts are also geared toward achieving a sustainable peace among people of the world, he added.
Creating peace in the world is a main potential of the foundation's plans with its international partners, notably IPI, Al-Babtain added.
We have already created a work plan for 2017-2020 that includes various activities in several world countries, he said.
The Kuwaiti cultural activist also mentioned that he is to address the joint plan to the UN General Assembly, reiterating commitment to exert all his efforts toward promoting peace around the globe.
Meanwhile, Al-Babtain has also pointed out his participation in a high-level forum on promoting international peace culture, held earlier at the UN headquarters.
The event, entitled "Seeds of Peace", is a milestone and necessary step toward boosting the culture of peace around the world, and serving humanity as well, he said. (end)
