Powerful explosion occurs near US Embassy in Kabul

ISLAMABAD, Aug 29 (KUNA) -- At least one person was killed and several others wounded when a powerful explosion ripped near the US Embassy in the Afghan capital city Kabul, said an official Tuesday.
The explosion has occurred in Massoud Circle near the diplomatic quarters and the US Embassy, said the spokesman for Afghanistan's Interior Ministry, Najib Danish.
According to initial reports, the number of those wounded in the attack was still unknown. (end) sbk.ss
