Muslim World League condemns Nigeria, Barcelona terror attacks

JEDDAH, Aug 18 (KUNA) -- The Saudi-based Muslim World League on Friday condemned terrorist attacks in Nigeria and Barcelona, Spain, over the past two days each of which left dozens killed and injured.
The organisation's director general Mohammad Al-Issa described the attacks as an "example of the barbarism of terrorism and its hideous hatred of coexistence and peace." He urged the international community, the UN Security Council and global organisations to exert more efforts to eliminate the "scourge of terrorism." He also expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.
According to press reports, dual attacks in Barcelona on Thursday killed 14 people and injured 130 others, while suicide attacks in Nigeria's northeast Borno state a day earlier killed at least 16 people and wounded 82 others. (end) nsa.sd
