FES, Morocco, Aug 14 (KUNA) -- Moroccan poet Fatima Bohraka on Monday underlined the distinguished role of Kuwait's poets in enriching the literary movement in the Arab world.
In remarks to KUNA during the signing event of her book titled "The Great Encyclopedia of Arab Poets", with the attendance of number of Arab poets and intellectuals.
She listed 55 Kuwaiti poets in her encyclopedia out of 2,000, which reflected their pioneer role in the region.
There is a remarkable number of female Kuwaiti poets also mentioned, including Sheikha Dr. Suad Al-Sabah, Bohraka said.
On Dr. Suad, Bohraka said that she was the first female poet in the Arab world to issue a 'Diwan' - a book including a collection of poems - in 1961 and the second in the Gulf region after Saudi poet Princess Sultana Al-Sidairi in 1956.
Bohraka praised the role of Sheikha Dr. Suad Al-Sabah poems in spreading love and peace.
The Moroccan poet spent nine years in preparing for the encyclopedia, being a bibliographic project celebrating Arab poets in the last half a century. (end) mry.lb
