(With SEC-IRAQ-MOSUL) BAGHDAD, July 9 (KUNA) -- Iraq's Prime Minister Haider Al-Abadi on Sunday visited Mosul, where Iraqi troops are hours away from a final victory on the so-called Islamic State (IS).
Al-Abadi arrived in the "liberated Mosul" and is congratulating the "heroes" and the Iraqi people on the great victory on IS, the Premier's media office said in a statement.
The Prime Minister is expected to formally announce the final victory on the IS in Mosul.
The Iraqi anti-terror troops are fighting "final hours battle against" IS in Mosul, the largest city captured by the group that nearly three years ago declared the founding of its "caliphate" over parts of Iraq and Syria. (end) ahh.msa
