 KUALA LUMPUR, May 8 (KUNA) -- The 19th edition of Asia Oil and Gas Conference (AOGC.2017) started here Monday with a participation of a delegation from Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company (KUFPEC) CEO Sheikh Nawaf S. Al-Sabah.
   KUFPEC Chief Executive Officer Sheik Nawaf told KUNA on the sidelines of the conference that KUFPEC's participations comes within its policy to further expand the historic partnership between KUFPEC and Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS), Malaysia and Asia.
   The Kuwaiti official said "with more than three decades of active involvement in the Malaysian upstream sector, KUFPEC invested over USD one billion in the region".
   Currently, KUFPEC holds working interests in two exploration blocks and one producing asset in Malaysia.
   KUFPEC has recently opened a regional office in Kuala Lumpur as it  considers Malaysia as one of its vital focal countries.
   A fruitful meeting held at the beginning of this month focused on the historic partnership between KUFPEC and PETRONAS, dating back to the 1980’s.  
   Malaysia is hosting AOGC 2017 under the logo "Embracing Technology in a new reality", taking place from 8th to the 9th of May 2017 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
   AOGC 2017 is hosting at least 3,000 participants from 37 nations, and is strategically positioned to become a cradle where industry leading initiatives and innovative leadership moves are prioritised and propagated.
   The conferees will discuss gas industry which is facing widespread challenges due to volatile prices, prolonged supply glut as well as fierce competition among OPEC, non-OPEC and shale drillers. (end)
