Coalition launches 17 strikes against IS in Syria, 11 in Iraq

WASHINGTON, April 28 (KUNA) -- Coalition military forces on Thursday conducted 28 strikes consisting of 53 engagements against the so-called Islamic State (IS) in Syria and Iraq, the Combined Joint Task Force announced on Friday. In Syria, coalition forces conducted 17 strikes consisting of 20 engagements near Abu Kamal, Dayr Az Zawr, Raqqah and Tabqah. One strike was completed in Syria on Wednesday near Al Shadaddi, it said.
In Iraq, the forces conducted 11 strikes consisting of 33 engagements near Al Qaim, Mosul, Rawah and Tal Afar, the statement said. (end) rm.msa
