US senate confirms Labor Secretary

WASHINGTON, April 28 (KUNA) -- The US Senate confirmed Thursday Alexander Acosta as secretary of labor, making him the last secretary in President Donald Trump's cabinet to be confirmed.
Acosta, who is the only Hispanic in Trump's cabinet, was confirmed by a 60-38 vote, which also comes just a few days before Trump marks his 100 days in office.
Trump initially nominated former fast-food executive Andrew Puzder for this post but he withdrew his name in February, then Trump nominated the former US attorney.
The only Senate vote being awaited is Trump's pick for US trade representative, which is considered a cabinet-level job. (end) si.gta
