Two U.S. service members killed in Afghanistan -- Pentagon

WASHINGTON, April 27 (KUNA) -- Two U.S. service members were killed in operations against the so-called Islamic State (IS) in eastern Afghanistan, it was reported Thursday.
"Two US service members were killed in action last night in southern Nangarhar, Afghanistan, during an operation against (IS) Khorasan," Pentagon spokesman Jeff Davis was quoted saying.
The U.S. dropped earlier this month the largest non-nuclear bomb known as the "mother of all bombs" (MOAB) in eastern Afghanistan against IS complex of fighters.
The drop of the MOAB came following the death of an American soldier in Nangarhar Province, who was supporting Operation Freedom's Sentinel. (end) si.rk
