The official Kuwaiti stance was expressed by the First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, addressing a scheduled conference of the GCC ministers of foreign, defense and interior affairs.

He called for reaching common perspective toward many hot issues, rapid developments in the region and pondering ways of dealing with their repercussions.
"Such an approach is required, he said, for safeguarding our states and accomplishments, inspired from the sagacious and purposeful guidelines by Their Highnesses the Kings and leaders of our states," he added.

Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled expressed gratitude to the GCC ministers of interior and defense for their keenness on bolstering cooperation at the political, security and military levels. Such an approach will "undoubtedly contribute to strengthening the concord for sake of reaching a unified perspective for facing the challenges and dealing with the critical and sensitive conditions in our region." The top GCC leaders, at their consultative summit held on May 31, 2016, issued instructions to hold regular meetings grouping the ministers of interior, foreign affairs and defense to examine regional conditions, specify political interior and external challenges for sake of taking the proper precautions to cope with them.
Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled indicated that the agenda includes recommendations that had been submitted by the undersecretaries to boost coordination and cooperation among the GCC states for sake of "confronting and surrounding terrorism and the terrorist and criminal factions." "We have the resolve to exert maximum efforts and reach the farthest extent in uprooting the deviating terrorist thoughts, fortifying and securing our states for the presence and future of our peoples." he said.
