MANAMA, April 26 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Minister of Commerce and Industry Khaled Al-Roudan said Wednesday the GCC member states are bent on drawing Gulf young people to economy by spurring small-sized enterprises.
Al-Roudan, who doubles as Minister of State for Youth Affairs, made the remark to KUNA following the conclusion of a GCC youth ministerial meeting in Manama.
The stimulation and promotion of small-sized enterprises would certainly create many jobs to young people in the GCC member states, the minister said.
During the meeting, Kuwait submitted a working paper aiming at linking Gulf youth to economy, mainly in the field of small-sized enterprises, he added.
The youth ministers discussed during the meeting a GCC strategy for 2017-2020, he said, pointing to mutual willingness to allow young people to get engaged in the Gulf economy.
The Kuwaiti minister voiced pleasure that his country would play host to the next GCC youth ministerial meeting, given that Kuwait was chosen Capital of Arab Youth. (end) mga.mt
