Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled recalls exploits of late Saudi FM Saud Al-Faisal

RIYADH, March 30 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al--Hamad Al- Sabah on Thursday recalled the virtues and exploits of late Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Al-Faisal.
Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled pointed to Al-Faisal's copious career as a diplomat and a politician, referring to his support to Kuwait in the aftermath of the Iraqi invasion of the country more than quarter a century ago.
This was the core of a statement Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled made at the inauguration ceremony of Prince Saud Al-Faisal Conference Center at the GCC headquarters in Riyadh, on the sidelines of the 142nd meeting of the GCC Ministerial Council in the Saudi capital today.
Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled voiced pleasure and pride for taking part in the inauguration of the Prince Saud Al-Faisal Conference Center.
He emphasized the diplomatic achievements and the honorable copious record of the late prince on the regional and international scenes.
Naming the center after Al-Faisal comes in recognition of the great services the late prince rendered to the Arab and Muslim nations, and his solid defense of their interests and causes, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled said.
Al-Faisal was an experienced politician who combined wisdom, sound views and opinions and political acuity through the four decades he led the Saudi foreign policy.
The Kuwaiti First Deputy Prime Minister Foreign Minister highlighted Al-Faisal's great efforts for the GCC, thanking the officials at the GCC Secretariat for naming the new center after his name.
The delegation accompanying Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled to the GCC ministerial meeting took part in the ceremony. (end) msa.tab.msa
