Amman Summit must address Palestinian cause adequately - Arab League

Dead Sea, Jordan, March 29 (KUNA) -- The Arab League called Wednesday on the Arab summit in Amman to take the necessary decisions that will meet the challenges facing the Palestinian issue.
This came in a statement to reporters made by Arab League Assistant Secretary-General for Palestine and occupied Arab territories, Said Abu Ali on the sidelines of the Arab summit meetings.
Abu Ali said the "difficult" Palestinian situation due Israeli escalation requires a "serious stance" from Arab leaders during the current Arab summit.
He added that the dangers facing the Palestinian issue also calls for decisions that support the centralization of Palestinian issue, Arab identity of occupied East Jerusalem (the capital of the State of Palestine). He reaffirmed the right of the State of Palestine to sovereignty over occupied Palestinian land since 1967.
Abu Ali pointed out that "Amman Summit" is considered an important event for the league's march due to its high level and various decision-making decision apparatus and collective bodies.
It is likely that the current Arab summit will have a "significant impact" on bringing views closer, purifying Arab atmosphere to serve the great Arab interests and reactivate Arab solidarity, the Ambassador added.
Abu Ali expected that the resolutions on Palestine would pass unanimously, with no one standing against due to the historic Palestinian struggle. (end) amm.mjb.mb
