DOHA, March 27 (KUNA) -- Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani and US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson discussed Monday the conflict in Syria, and other regional issues.
Sheikh Mohammad called Tillerson and the two men discussed international issues of mutual interest in addition to bilateral relations, official QNA news agency reported.
Syrian government and opposition are holding the fifth round of negotiations in Geneva amidst a fragile ceasefire in the country.
Parties are discussing implementation of UN resolution 2254, the ruling system, new constitution, UN-supervised elections and fighting terrorism.
The Syrian government delegation insists on putting the fight against terrorism on top of the agenda, while opposition wanted to discuss terrorism in parallel with political transition. (end)
