RIYADH, March 14 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Embassy in Saudi Arabia organized its annual blood donation campaign Tuesday under the slogan "Together We Save a Life", and in coordination with Saudi health ministry, blood bank, and King Saud medical complex.
Kuwaiti Ambassador Sheikh Thamer Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah told KUNA that the blood donation campaign is part of other initiatives launched by the embassy within the framework of Kuwaiti-Saudi fateful and historic ties that links both countries' leaderships and people.
"It is also an embodiment of the deep brotherhood, solidarity, and true sentiments that the Kuwaiti people hold for their Saudi brothers and sisters," said Ambassador Al-Sabah.
Meanwhile, several heads of regional and international diplomatic missions in the Kingdom such as Venezuela, Sudan, Turkey, Yemen, Iraq, UAE, Tunisia, and Portugal affirmed, in separate statements to KUNA, that such campaign is "no stranger" for Kuwait and its embassy in Riyadh, which is always at the forefront of organizing initiatives and activities.
This is a very good humanitarian campaign by the Kuwaiti embassy, a mission that should be considered as a role model for all embassies in the Kingdom, Venezuelan Ambassador Joseba Achutegui said, calling on everyone to donate blood to save people lives.
For his part, Sudanese Ambassador Abdulbaset Al-Sonousi commended Ambassador Al-Sabah's good humanitarian initiative, urging his fellow countrymen in the Kingdom to participate in this significant humanitarian action.
Turkish Ambassador Yunus Demirer said that donating blood is a very important humanitarian action for several reasons, including aiding people and improving health by renewing blood.
He expressed gratitude to the Kuwaiti Ambassador for this great social and humanitarian initiative. (end) mdm.ma
